The Ada Jobs Foundation is currently
undertaking a strategic planning process to develop an economic development
plan of action for the next several years. This process will involve developing
a long-range vision for the community, setting economic development goals, and
creating milestones for the evaluation of progress. The strategies and
procedures developed during this process will serve a guide to future growth
and development of the Ada community.
Successful economic development
strategies include participation from the entire community. The Ada Jobs Foundation is seeking public
input regarding the community’s overall desires and ideas for future economic growth
and development. This strategic planning process is a way in which citizens can
help shape the future of the area. Public participation is requested at two
planning sessions to be held in conjunction with this process.
The first planning session will be
held on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at the
Pontotoc Technology Centerfrom 2:00
– 7:00 pm. The primary purpose of this planning session will be to identify
the direction of future economic development efforts in the Ada area. This will
be achieved by discussing the current limitations that affect economic
development, and highlighting the strengths of the community. Specific goals
and target industries will be identified and set during this meeting. The
second planning session meeting will develop strategies, with specific
measurable action items, to accomplish the goals set in the first session.
If you are interested in helping
shape the economic future of the Ada area, please make plans to attend this
strategic planning session on January 29th. Since a light dinner and
refreshments will be provided during this session, RSVP’s are requested. Please RSVP on or before Monday, January 21
to either 580 235-0070 or
info@adaworks.org
.
