The Ada-based partnership of General Aviation Modifications and Tornado Alley Turbo has earned the prestigious Governor's Manufacturing Leadership Award.
Each year, Governor Brad Henry bestows awards on a select few Oklahoma manufacturers in recognition of their pacesetting standards. The award-winning companies must be progressive, forward-thinking, and willing to adapt to change to become more successful in their marketplace.
"They represent the enormous potential available in Oklahoma and take a leadership role in promoting the importance of doing business in and from our state," said Roy Peters, president of the Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance.
"General Aviation Modifications and Tornado Alley Turbo are remarkable manufacturers and have had an amazing impact on their community."
An awards committee made up of manufacturing professionals selects the winners from a long list of nominees.
The awards were presented at the annual Oklahoma Conference on Manufacturing this week in Norman.
Other winners were Boardman in Oklahoma City and McKissick Products in Tulsa.
The partnership of General Aviation Modifications and Tornado Alley Turbo operates under the same ownership umbrella from their facilities in Ada.
Founded in 1994 by engineers George Braly and Tim Roehl, General Aviation Modifications produces FAA certified fuel injectors for TCM and Lycoming air-cooled engines.
Tornado Alley Turbo manufactures turbo systems for Beechcraft, Cessna, and Cirrus airplanes.
