The Ada Jobs Foundation is currently accepting nominations for the 2nd Annual Business & Industry Night Out Awards. The Business & Industry Night Out Awards Banquet is a red carpet event similar to the Oscars for businesses located in the Ada area. This year's event is scheduled for Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the East Central University Ballroom. Information regarding the event will be published shortly. 

Award Categories are:

New Business Award - Celebrates a new business started within the last 3 years and has made a significant contribution to the economic vitality of the Ada area. Bolitho Ventures, Inc. won this award in 2009.

Innovations Award - Celebrates a business that has brought recognition to Ada through creative marketing efforts, innovative business ventures, and/or unique product development. Tornado Alley Turbo, Inc. was the 2009 winner of this award. 

Entrepreneurship Award - Celebrates the person and/or business that exemplifies the qualities of an successful entrepreneur, such as Initiative, Creativity, Adaptability, and Passion. Nominees must be in business for at least one year to be eligible. Freelance Consulting Services, LLC won this award in 2009 for their ProDepot.com venture.

Ambassador Award - Celebrates a business or organization that has fostered a positive image of Ada as a business location. Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc won this award in 2009.

Environmental Award - Celebrates a business that conducts or participates in activities that benefit the environment through its business practices and policies on an on-going basis. Geocycle, a subsidiary of Holcim, won this award for their recycling programs in 2009.

Employer of the Year Award - Celebrates the small, medium, and large business in Ada that consistently offer programs and services that contribute to workforce growth and development in Ada. GLOBE Manufacturing (small), Holcim (medium) and the Chickasaw Nation (large) won these awards in 2009. 

Economic Development Leader of the Year Award - Celebrates an individual who has demonstrated exemplary commitment to economic development in Ada above and beyond business contributions. Dexter Pruitt was honored with this award at the 2009 Banquet.
