The City of Ada Sales Tax deposit for August 2010 was $1,138,354. This is a 2.46% increase from the August 2009 deposit, which ends the 16-month streak of declining sales tax collections. This may be the first indication that the Ada area economy is slowly improving.
The July 2010 deposit was $1,159,683, which closed out FY 09/10. The City of Ada sales tax collections were down 5% for the fiscal year. Miscellaneous Retail (4.1%) and Automotive Service Stations (4.5%) were the only two sectors with positive growth during the fiscal year. The two sectors with the largest decline were Hotel and Lodging (-23.5%) and Wholesale Trade (-13.7%).
