For the fourth year in a row, the state of Oklahoma will host a sales tax holiday. The 2010 sales tax holiday will begin at 12:01 am August 6th and run through midnight on August 8th.
As in the past clothing and shoes that are priced at $100 or less will be tax-exempt, but school supplies are not tax exempt.
While sales tax is not collected during the holiday, municipalities and counties are reimbursed for the sales tax revenue they would have received during the holiday. The sale tax holiday does not affect their revenue.
The Ada Jobs Foundation encourages residents to take advantage of the sales tax holiday and to always shop local merchants first.
